Give it up, make a stop doing list, subtract something from your schedule.
When you find your self without the busy excuse. Your heart can rest, your mind can think.
You can do this thing called living.
Most of us can think of something we don't need to be doing. Take that away and give that time to God as a gift. Its the least we can do to show appreciation for the gift of Jesus.
Spend time with the gift giver.

For some reason waiting in line for a White mocha doesn't irritate impatience. When ever I go it makes me relax. Having been on the other side of the counter for years, I know what it takes to bring a line down.
Starbucks gives a feeling like home, or coming home, and everything seems simple here.
Why is it that we can't have patience for the things in life that matter?
If we really trust God, we need to be patiently waiting on Him.

This morning Azariah and I woke up at about the same time. I heard him chirping and went into his room to see him jumping in his crib. A massive smile on his face he began to take turns chewing on the railing and jumping in pure delight.
What a stud.
When I thought about it all day God showed me something. What do I think when I wake up? I think ugh can I sleep more, nope got to go work. Then I get ready as fast as I can, and go to work.
What if I woke up and just jumped on my bed thanking God for a new day?
Well my lovely wife might knock me over in confusion. But what if my thought was today is a new day, a gift that God has given us. I am going to go and make it a gift well received and appreciate it.

Last night my son woke up and would only stop crying if I held him. So he slept quietly with me all night. Normally he would roll, kick, slap... you get the picture. But last night he just rested in his fathers arms.
How often do we give up and rest in the Fathers arms? I think to remain in His presence we have to continually surrender, all of our everything and just trust Him.

Today God gave me something I have been waiting for, for years. No need for details, but its amazing when he fulfills a promise. You can trust and be faithful, and when He blesses you Give Him Joyful Praise!!¡
The Father of lights knows how to give good gifts!

I was faced with a challenge at work this morning. Shortly after James Brown came on my internet radio.
"Get up off that thang, shake and jooo feee bettah!"
I think there is truth behind that, when we face any challenge give it to God and shake it off. He fights for us, and wins, on His power and for His glory.

Ever get a feeling that a season of life is ending. I can feel the famine ending, and I have hope and faith in the coming time.
I believe God is sending me into a time of harvest, how exciting. I trust Him for the timing and details. It is great to feel it, but that is not what's important.
Some times the famine is self inflicted, and some times its God trying to get our attention. Read Amos 4 to see a poetic example.
If famine can be avoided by listening for God and staying in his presence. You know where to find me.

You know you are in Gods presence when he speaks to you in different ways about the same thing.
First last night it was a prayer for overflowing joy. Then this morning the Jars of Clay song I blogged.
Now it gets crazy. God keeps bringing up the scripture about Elijah praying for it not to rain, and then praying for rain.
This has come up from different people almost every day the last week.
Today it is pouring buckets, creating streams where there were sidewalks and rivers where there were streets.
Rivers of Joy, the living God speaks!

Someone blessed me when I sneezed today. Then this thought hit me.
Remember the last time you sneezed and no one said bless you? It happens a lot.
Think about this, God said he would bless those who bless us, and curse those who curse us.
Next time i sneeze, If no one blesses me should I let them know they just missed an opportunity to get blessed?
Sounds funny but its true. The guy who blessed me today, God will bless, He stands by His word.

Last night a friend prayed over me and prayed for joy. I have thought I had joy deep down for a long time, and I try to live life out of an overflow of joy.
I didn't realize that some joy had been replaced with stress. It started with responsibility then the enemy twisted it.
I pray for freedom from this lie, and claim my heart for the Father and his joy.

In the old testament when israel sinned they had to give a sacrifice to atone for their sins. I think giving something helps us repent, action gets us moving in the right direction.
I don't think we should go back to killing a ram etc... I do think we don't like to sacrifice. Today if I feel the spirit give me correction I will offer the Father a sacrifice of praise.
WWY= Weak without Worship
In the book of Leviticus there are a lot of detailed instructions on sacrifices. One common theme is that what ever is burned smells like a pleasing or fragrant aroma to God.
If we are supposed to be living sacrifices, what do you smell like to God?
If your heart was a scratch and sniff sticker, would you mind if someone scratched you? Do you want God to smell that?

I just finished the book of exodus again. The last 5 chapters are all about building the tabernacle. When its done God resides in it as a cloud by day and a fire by night. His presence is so think that no one can get it the tabernacle.
What modifications need to be made in your heart so he can dwell there in density?
